NB: Despite the erroneous title given in Cyrillic, the Ukrainian name is «Ірпiнь», not «Ирпiнь», as an “и” cannot stand at the beginning of a Ukrainian word (just like a Polish word cannot begin with a “Y”, or Russian with“ы” — the Ukrainian equivalent to both is “и”).
Just try to search for “И”рпiнь on Google etc. and check what you get in return: nothing but “І”рпінь, and I do not know any Slavic language which would spell and could pronounce any “Ирпiнь”!
Did you know it: Orthography and phonology do exist in Ukrainian too… Do you prefer ‘Nu Yorque’ or ‘New York’, ‘loored’ or ‘lured’?
Could someone correct this?
